THE FACTORY.

The Custonaci factory covers an area of over 100,000 square metres, 5000 of which are built up. It is equipped with cutting-edge production facilities, and divided into four operating units: the experimental mill, the storage area with a capacity of about 25,000 quintals, packaging lines and depots for the finished products and packages.

THE EXPERIMENTAL
MILL.

The experimental mill is a revolutionary plant unique in the world. Four mills process the olives in parallel, with four different milling systems: discs, hammers, opposing stone rollers and pitting.

THE PACKAGING
LINE.

The bottling area consists of 4 automated lines, each dedicated to packaging oil in cans, glass and ceramic bottles, and capable of producing up to 11,000 bottles and 1,000 cans per hour.

INNOVATION.

From the first glass bottle designed by Manfredi Barbera Senior in 1936, to the creation of an unfiltered must olive oil in the '60s, the experimental mill and the creation of "Lorenzo N°5", the first pitted olive oil, Barbera has always been synonymous not only with unquestionable quality, but also with a happy business model driven by talented entrepreneurs capable of surprising insights and great innovations.

INNOVATIONS
TO COME.

This expertise, this visionary ability, was the real great inheritance that all who have led the company - from Lorenzo in 1888 up to Manfredi today - have handed down to the next generation, so that this extraordinary journey can continue with enduring vigour and success.

IN DEPTH

Our products are true citizens of the world. They are at home on the tables in far-flung parts of the world, which come together to celebrate the great Sicilian oil tradition. Their certifications are the sign of this wandering, and the prizes that celebrate them (the first in 1900 at the Paris International Exposition) show us how much our products are loved the world over.
