Native of Andalusia, Picual is the most produced olive variety in Spain. It is considered one of the most popular ones both for its properties and for its resistance to climatic conditions and oxidation. The result is a thick oil with an intense green color and a fruity flavour. This type of olive has a high content of oleic acid and a very high content of polyphenols, which are important natural antioxidants. Spain is the country with the highest number of olive trees and is today the leading producer and exporter of olive oil in the world.
